(BIRMINGHAM, Ala.) -- Homicide detectives in Birmingham are investigating the murder of 23-year-old Antawon Cowans.

Police say shortly after 3 p.m. on Monday they responded to a call of someone being shot on the 7500 block of 64th Courtway South, where they found Cowans inside his wrecked vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was then taken to U.A.B. Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

There were no arrests.
